Kayak Success

Brooklyn Saunders, Year 12, trialed for the Under 18 NZ Kayaking team to compete at an Australian event called GP2. She qualified for that team and competed in the Doubles, Singles and the Fours. Brooklyn came 6th in the single 1000m, 6th in doubles 200m and 500m and 2nd in the Four,  500m.

Class Photos

On Monday 6 March L C Scott will be on site at WGC to take Class and Family photos. Students should collect a photo order envelope from the table in the Atrium (by the Drop Box) and if paying by cash hand this envelope and money to the Photographer on the day photos are taken (6 March). To pay and order online details are on the order envelopes. If paying and ordering online an envelope does not need to be submitted. There will be a small number of envelopes available at the Student Office for family groups ordering.

Car Parking Fundraiser

If you know anyone going to the cricket please let them know that parking will be available.  Entry at the sports entrance on Murphy Street.

Athletics Day - 24 February - Newtown Park

Swimming Success

Congratulations to Julia Borlase and Julia Hogg who competed in the national Zonal Swimming Championships in Auckland last weekend, as members of the junior and senior All Stars Teams. The junior team came 2nd out of the 4 zones competing, and the senior team came 4th.
In the individual events, Julia Borlase came 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke and 2nd in the 200 Breaststroke (15-and-under category). Julia Hogg competed in the 16-and-over category (which included three Olympians). She came 6th in the 200 Individual Medley and 8th in the 200 Butterfly.

Lawn Bowls

In conjunction with Wilton Bowling Club, we are offering recreational Lawn Bowls for Term 1, for all year groups. (4 weeks only). Come and give it a go! Thursday 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd March, 4pm - 5pm. We will organise for the girls to take shuttles to the Wilton Bowling Club but they will have to make their own way home.
