Junior Marjory Nicholls Speech Competition Results

The junior round of the Marjory Nicholls Speech Competition was held this morning.

Congratulations to the 5 speakers who participated: Holly Willis, Holly Bamber, Meredith Ross-James, Isabelle Douglas, and Milla Weatherley. All speeches were hugely engaging and well delivered. 
Holly Willis received 1st place with her speech on Emily Dickinson, Holly Bamber received 2nd place with her speech on Hedy Lamarr. Congratulations to you both.

BOT Student Representative Election – 2017/18 

Voting papers will be distributed at form time on Tuesday 12 September.  If you are absent on that day please collect them from the Student Office. 

Voting papers are to be placed in the ballot box (next to the Student Office) by noon on Friday 22 September.  Papers received after this time will be counted as invalid votes.

Debating Success

One of our Senior Certificate Debate teams had fantastic success at Parliament last night, they debated against Wellington East Girls' College for the final of the season and won. 
Katie Bonne was first speaker, Ellie Fuehrer second and Susie Lee third.  Ellie also won best speaker for the night.  Congratulations team and to all of those who have been involved in debating this year.

PAD Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Sarah Tetzlaff (left in photo) in Year 13 who has recently returned from a 4 week scholarship in Germany. Sarah was one of 3 students from New Zealand to be awarded a PAD scholarship for top students of German from around the world.  During her stay, she spent time in Munich, Berlin and with a host family in Bonn.  Herzlichen Glückwunsch Sarah!​

French Language Exam Results

Congratulations to all WGC students who sat the DELF exam, which is an internationally accepted French diploma. Student who attained the B2 level can attend university in France without needing to sit the language exam. Click here for the full list of names.
